A poem for love at first sight
For Cherie
When first I saw you, time stood still,
The earth shook, then was chill.
A breathless moment, caught in grace,
As I beheld your pretty face.
The world around us lost its pace,
As I was drawn to your embrace.
My heart, it leapt, it soared so high,
For in your eyes, the stars align.
Each beat within me spoke your name,
A love ignited, fierce as flame.
In that sweet instant, fate was sealed,
For in your gaze, my heart revealed.
No words could capture what I feel,
A love so pure, so deep, so real.
From that first glance, I knew it true,
My heart, my soul, belong to you.
Now I’m here all alone,
A feel of love and a long way home.
For in you I see my soul,
You’re someone I already know.
So come to me my sweet girl,
Just let our lives unfurl.
As we move into this light,
We hold and share and laugh all night.
Life is meant to be joy and fun,
Then why from true love do we sometimes run?
It’s not our fear that keeps us safe,
But the joy and love of our embrace.
So don’t be scared, and don’t hold back,
We’re here to find what others lack.
To live in bliss, in joy so true,
This love we share is meant for you.
What you don’t know is pure and bright,
A soul that shines, a guiding light.
A heart of gold, sometimes so bold,
In you, my love, I will unfold.
I’ve planted seeds in fertile ground,
With care and love, let them abound.
Bring sun and water, tender grace,
And watch our love in time embrace.
A message sent on wings above,
By raven black and gentle dove.
So come to me, my sweetest dear,
To share our love, forever near.
